11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

Defined 20 species of bat of Vietnam belong to the family Rhinolophidae; provided detailed information and identification keys for these species.

Added one species (Rhinolophus osgoodi) to the list of bat species of Vietnam, confirmed the presence of R. subbadius and R. siamensis in Vietnam; discovered 7 cryptic forms of horseshoe bats in Vietnam (may be new species or subspecies), belonging to R. affinis (2 forms),  R. malayanus (1 form), R. thomasi (1 form), R. macrotis (1 form),  R. paradoxolophus (1 form) and R. marshalli (1 form).

Provided the most comprehensive information about the echolocation frequency of 25 forms of horseshoe bat species of Vietnam, provided the first information about the echolocation of R. osgoodi and R. subbadius; assessed that echolocation is an useful tool in identification of horseshoe bats of Vietnam.

Provided the most comprehensive information about the genetic characteristics of the family Rhinolophidae of Vietnam using COI gene sequences, assessed that genetic data is useful in identifying almost species in the family Rhinolophidae of Vietnam.

Analysed the geographical distribution characteristics of the family Rhinolophidae in Vietnam; provided basic data for reevaluating the conservation status of 4 rarely documented species of horseshoe bats of Vietnam: R. paradoxolophus, R. thomasi, R. osgoodi, R. luctus.

12. Practical applicability, if any:

Providing basic information for controlling biodiversity, managing the horseshoe bat popultions and reducing harmful effects of the wildlife to human; conservation of threatened and  rare species of horseshoe bats of Vietnam.

13. Further research directions, if any:

Completing data analysis and describing some of new forms of horseshoe bats discovered in Vietnam and publish in scientific journals.
