VNU student wins a silver medal at the 18th Asian Physics Olympiad
At the 18th Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO 18) held in Yakutsk, Russia from May 1 to May 9, 2017, seven out of eight Vietnamese participants won prizes.

Tạ Bá Dũng, a 12th grader from VNU University of Science High School for Gifted students, won a silver medal.

Đinh Anh Dũng, a 12th grader from Hà Nội-Amsterdam Gifted High School, won a gold medal.

Three 12th graders: Nguyễn Thế Quỳnh from Võ Nguyên Giáp High School for the Gifted in Quảng Bình province, Tạ Bá Dũng from High School for Gifted Students, VNU University of Science and Trần Hữu Bình Minh from Phan Bội Châu High School for the Gifted in Nghệ An province were silver medalists.

Certificates of merit were given to Nguyễn Ngọc Long, an 11th grader from Lam Sơn High School for the Gifted in Thanh Hóa province and two 12th graders, Nguyễn Đình Bách from Hà Nội-Amsterdam High School  and Phan Tuấn Linh from Phan Bội Châu High School for the Gifted in Nghệ An.

Out of 153 participants from 22 countries and territories participating in the 2017 Asian Physics Olympiad, 82 (53.0%) students won prizes whereas, 7 out of 8 Vietnamese students (87.5%) won prizes.
