- Residents in some resettlement areas in Hanoi still face difficulties in accessing and using domestic water. Specifically: do not have access to adequate information on water, water is not enough to meet the needs of people, quality is not guaranteed, high water prices. In using of water, depending on the location and type of water accessible, they use different types of water for different purposes.

- Factors affecting the access and useage of water by the resettled people are government policies, practical implementation and management of stakeholders for resettlement sites and the current status of social water infrastructure services in the resettlement areas. In addition, households with different characteristics in terms of size and composition of the household, income, living area also have differences in accessing to and using of water.

- Difficulties in accessing and using water have a great impact on the daily life of the resettled people and also causing irritation in the resettled community on this issue. In the context of accessing to and using of water, resettlers have responded flexibly at two levels: household level and community level.

- The proper implementation of stakeholders’ roles, together with awareness raising, participation and self-management of relocated people, will contribute to improving accessibility and usage of domestic water in resettlement sites, contributing to ensuring stable life for relocated people.
