11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

- From the perspective of philosophy, the thesis clarifies some basic contents of the ideas on the rule of law in modern Western philosophy, as the basic criteria of the rule of law such as: Thoughts of law, ideas on decentralization and democracy. Then, it shows that "democracy" is the most fundamental criterion for the existence of a real rule of law.

- The thesis provides scientific assessments on the content and reference value of these ideas for the construction of the rule of law state in Vietnam today.

12. Practical applicability, if any:

- Through studying the thoughts of the rule of law in modern Western philosophy, the thesis contributes to the research from the general philosophical perspective on the rule of law state, contributing to perfecting the thoughts of the rule of law state and applying it in practical construction of the rule of law state in Vietnam.

- The thesis can be used as a reference for teaching, studying and researching the history of Western philosophy in general and the thoughts of the rule of law in particular.
