VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn attended the ceremony and gave a congratulation speech.

VNU UEB School of Business Administration has been established based on the developing of the existing UEB Faculty of Business Administration.

VNU UEB School of Business Administration, the first training entity of its kind, is oriented toward an autonomous university, which is in line with the development strategy of UEB and VNU.

Speaking at the ceremony, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn highly appreciated the achievements that the Faculty of Business Administration had gained over the past years.

VNU President believed and hoped that the School of Business Administration would soon overcome all the initial challenges to successfully fulfill its training and research missions as well as provide the nation with business leadership resources of modern thinking and effective action.

Addressing the SBA’s staff and faculty, UEB Rector Nguyễn Hồng Sơn stressed that the School of Business Administration had to be fully aware that higher autonomy always went along with higher responsibility. In addition, the School should make sure to attract regular training resources focusing on Practicality, Professionality and High class. “Practicality” should be closely linked with training, consultancy and research. “Professionality” should be closely linked with all the School’s activities, especially with those of training and research support. “High class” should be built on the basis of quality, professionality and practicality.

Speaking at the ceremony, SBA Director Hoàng Văn Hải advised that the School was going to perform the following three focal tasks: (1) Delivering two core programs including a fast-track Bachelor’s degree entrepreneurs training program and a Master’s program in strategic leadership; (2) Promoting applied research closely linked with business and locality circumstances; and (3) Performing consultancy and technology transfer for businesses focusing on strategic consulting projects. In relation to localities, the School would consult on new rural construction projects promoting the establishment of agricultural enterprises and empower the farmer with business knowledge.

At the ceremony, UEB Rector Nguyễn Hồng Sơn handed over the Decision on the establishment of SBA and the Decision on the appointment of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoàng Văn Hải and Dr. Nguyễn Đăng Minh as SBA’s director and deputy director respectively to the School’s officials.

Also at the ceremony, SBA Director Hoàng Văn Hải introduced the School’s Advisory Council of experts and entrepreneurs and signed a memorandum of cooperation with DOJI Jewelry, the Ministry of Defence Urban and Housing Development Investment Corporation, and Chu Dau Ceramics JSC.
